# CapCar Concept Studio — 3D model credits These 25 creator-made vehicle references are free to view in CapCar's public Concept Studio and private garage. A manufacturer's name identifies the depicted vehicle; it does not imply endorsement, an official manufacturer asset or verified dimensions. Vehicle designs and trademarks belong to their respective owners. ## Sources and processing Original creator, model and license metadata were checked against Sketchfab's public model API on **18 October 2026**. The selected GLBs were redistributed by [pedrosoandre/carros](https://github.com/pedrosoandre/carros) at revision [`0a56de377f02f2574d781f6920fed08d6423ec2f`](https://github.com/pedrosoandre/carros/tree/0a56de377f02f2574d781f6920fed08d6423ec2f). The upstream catalog metadata is [MIT-licensed](./UPSTREAM-LICENSE.txt); the individual assets retain their own Creative Commons licenses listed below. Upstream modified the original files for web delivery: vertex welding, geometry simplification, removal of unused objects/materials/textures, and Meshopt compression. These are compressed derivatives, not the original downloads. CapCar presents them at a normalized viewing scale and may change the displayed body color where a separate body-paint material is identified. The models are oriented for consistent camera views; the E36 model's authored presentation floor is omitted from the viewer so the vehicle itself defines its scale. Exact vertex bounds are used for visual framing. The underlying downloadable assets retain their geometry and original metadata. These models are visual references and do not establish compatibility, dimensional accuracy or factory specifications. Original baked finishes are retained when safe paint materials have not been identified. No game-port or known game-ripped asset is included in this selected collection. CapCar also decodes Meshopt geometry offline and repacks buffers into standalone GLBs so browsers do not download a separate geometry decoder. Large textures are resized for mobile viewing: opaque color and emissive images are re-encoded as JPEG; alpha-bearing images retain PNG transparency; large normal and packed material maps are resized and remain lossless PNG. The per-file manifest records the final texture dimensions, encodings and file sizes. These optimization and display changes do not alter the original attribution or asset license. The license for each of the 24 CC BY entries allows commercial use, adaptation and redistribution with attribution, a license link and notice of changes. The Porsche Carrera 4S model is **CC BY-SA 4.0**: adaptations of that specific asset must also be distributed under CC BY-SA 4.0. This applies to the model asset, not to independent CapCar application code. These illustrative images retain the original models' CC BY 4.0 attribution; their source links and processing details are in `/garage/cutouts/README.md`. Live 3D model geometry is unchanged.
